A practical guide for Indian solar installers to ensure safety and quality on every project site.

Section 1: Site Assessment & Hazard Identification

  • Conduct a thorough structural assessment of the roof before starting. Check for cracks, leaks, and load-bearing capacity.
  • Identify all existing electrical lines, plumbing vents, and communication cables on the roof.
  • Assess the worksite for general hazards like uneven ground, overhead power lines, and public access points.
  • Create a site safety plan and conduct a "toolbox talk" with the entire team before work begins each day.

Section 2: Electrical Safety (As per CEA Regulations)

  • Always use insulated tools and digital multimeters rated for CAT III 1000V DC.
  • De-energize and verify circuits are dead before working. Follow Lock-out/Tag-out (LOTO) procedures without fail.
  • Never work on live DC circuits. The risk of arc flash is extremely high and can be fatal.
  • Ensure proper grounding and earthing for all metallic components as per IS 3043 standards.
  • Use only ISI-marked, UV-resistant DC cables with proper MC4 connectors. Avoid using substandard wires.

Section 3: Working at Heights

  • Always wear a full-body safety harness (conforming to IS 3521) and connect it to a reliable anchor point.
  • Inspect ladders and scaffolding for damage before every use. Ensure stable and level footing.
  • Maintain three points of contact when climbing a ladder.
  • Keep the work area on the roof clear of tools and debris to prevent tripping hazards.

Section 5: Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

  • Safety Helmet: Mandatory for everyone on site. Must be ISI-marked.
  • Safety Shoes: Must have steel toes and be anti-skid.
  • Safety Goggles: Protect your eyes from dust, debris, and potential electrical flashes.
  • Hand Gloves: Use Class 0 electrical safety gloves for wiring and sturdy, cut-resistant gloves for handling panels.

Our dedicated operations team understands the specific processes of various DISCOMs. We assist you in preparing and tracking the necessary documentation for net metering and other approvals, reducing your administrative burden.

What software and tools do I get access to?

What if a lead doesn't convert?

You pay nothing. Our partnership is entirely risk-free for you. Our commission is only applicable on projects that you successfully install and for which you have received payment from the customer.

Can I choose my service areas?

Yes. Our platform allows you to define the exact cities and pincodes you wish to operate in. We use this to send you only the most relevant, local job leads.

How does customer financing work?

We have tie-ups with major Indian banks and NBFCs. Through our platform, you can offer your customers attractive solar loan and EMI options, making it easier for them to make an investment decision.

What about after-sales service and warranties?

You maintain the direct relationship with your customer for after-sales service. However, we provide support by streamlining warranty claim processes with hardware partners and giving you templates for professional Annual Maintenance Contracts (AMCs).

How do you handle payments and commissions?

The customer pays you directly based on your invoice. After you confirm project completion and payment, we send you a separate invoice for our pre-agreed, transparent commission.

Can I still source my own projects?

Absolutely! We encourage it. Our platform is designed to be a powerful growth engine to supplement your existing business, not replace it. You are free to use our software for your direct clients as well.

How are partners evaluated and rewarded?

Partners are evaluated on key metrics like lead conversion rates, customer satisfaction scores, and installation quality. Top-performing partners receive priority access to high-value leads and are featured in our marketing campaigns.

What marketing support do you provide?

We support our partners with co-branded marketing materials (digital brochures, banners) and list you as a verified partner on our main website. We also run targeted digital ad campaigns in your area to generate high-intent leads for our network.

What is the agreement or contract term?

Our partnership agreement is straightforward and flexible, with no long-term lock-in period. Our goal is to provide value, and we believe the results will make you want to continue working with us.

Does your platform help with system design and BoM?

Yes, our software helps you create an initial system design based on your site survey data. It can also help you generate a preliminary Bill of Materials (BoM), which you can then refine based on your specific project needs.

How do you handle customer disputes?

While the service agreement is between you and the customer, we offer a resolution framework. Your Partner Manager will act as a neutral mediator to help address any concerns and find a solution that is fair to both parties.

Is this platform suitable for both residential and C&I projects?

Yes. Our platform is robust and handles leads for both residential rooftop projects (under PM Surya Ghar) and larger Commercial & Industrial (C&I) clients. You can choose to receive leads for one or both categories based on your business focus.
